I originally wrote the first prototype for this song about 9 years ago, but last year I took on the task of re-inventing it to better reflect my current state of being.

I've been undergoing a lot of growth and changes, and I feel like recently I've reached new understandings or my direction and desires in life which has given me enormous mental clarity and drive. This song is the story of the shedding of my past mistakes, regrets and apprehensions as well as the constructions and narratives I had self-imposed, to be able to free myself and move forward with new appreciation, having grown through the process.

I know most of us are stuck inside at the moment, but before long we'll be able to shed our layers and take a step outside - hopefully in a world changed by our ability to grow through this process. Wishing you all the best.
